Mind Over Matter
I just wanted to know peoples thoughts on this really.
Should we trust our body
Or our minds?
If we go to do a big cat, or a ridiculous precision and our body says no but our mind says yes
Who do we trust?
Your thoughts?

Re: Mind Over Matter
i generally tend to trust my body on these things, it knows what it can do, and unless its just a little bit of body doubt with a strong mind "YES" then maybe i would, but usually yeah, its my body i trust

Re: Mind Over Matter
Generally Body for everything. I trust that when my body screams YES that I can do it 100% - then the mind creeps in and fucks you over by planting doubt. The body always has a clear YES or NO, no maybe, the mind puts the maybe there I reckon?
My body knows what it can do, and for me, I can trust it fully because its been trained for 10 years how to move safely and well!
y so srs?

l
Generally i would say trust your body.
I do seem to have this problem though when you know that its truly in your capability but you just cant get yourself to do it. The way i conquer this now is by just walking away and coming back to it when i am in the right frame of mind. So by saying this i guess you mind does play a big part in it, but at the end of the day ur body has to be able to cope with it, so a huge drop your not ready for will generally always be a bad idea

Re: Mind Over Matter
in (late) reply to my previous comment, my mind and my body don't have answers for this question, i look at something and i instantly know whether i can do it or not, partially my mind saying this is possible, and my body saying it is capable, these two things make up my instinct, and it takes a glance to work that out, just my way of looking at it.

Re: Mind Over Matter
in answer also to my signature ill quickly explain it
i follow my instincts first
tells me can I jump?
than my heart
why i can jump?
my feet
how i should jump?
and my head
Whether i should jump?
the word jump of course being a general word for anyhting i use in parkour

Re: Mind Over Matter
hey, in this discussion , i would genaraly outline that knowing what your body is capable of is a doing, your mind can overwell you sumtimes it has done for me , but the way i get over it is by walking away then doing it again wen im comfortable. when ure in a situation where ure up for a precsion or arm jump, your body will do two things, estaming weaher it is possible and your mind telling u it is or isnt, but lisnon to ure body not your mind, the mind is wat holds u bk for thoughs who think neagative, i myself have some corelation to tht statement but im graduly gettin over it,. thnks for reading

I don't usually do stuff that I can badly bail from so I lately I've just been going for things that I think my body can't make however I grossly underestimate my body all the time so just jump.
