Southampton Performance

Post by Scott on Thu Jul 09, 2009 11:30 am

We have been asked to do a performance in Southampton, at Veracity Park as part of a Street Sports Festival.
It goes on from 10-3 but I'll performance will most likely be between 11.30 - 12.30.

Might be nice to do as a group?

It's on Tuesday 4th August

xx

ATTENDING: Andy, Lance, Milli, Adrian, Lee, Scott
May be attending: AD

What kind of performance and what is it going to involve? Anything we need to choreograph?

Just a general performance to showcase freerunning. Nothing major.

Doubt choreography will be needed. I assume it'll just be like a jam performance.

If you drive AD, the lady says she can cover petrol I think

Will there be actual obstacles to showcase parkour or just an area more for tricking?

Haven't had any details like that yet, but I'm fairly sure there will be vault horses and shit.

I'll let the thread know when I find out more!

Street Sports is a government initiative to get kids into sport that isn't just football, cricket, rugby etc.

'Freestyle Gymnastics' is one of the sports they offer. I'm the 'ambassador' for it meaning I do nothing and they ask if us if we can perform to attract young people to it.

As much as freestyle gymnastics is a joke, kids will partake and get fit/healthier, no matter what it's name is. I haven't got a website but maybe a google search would come up with something?

I've tried a google search but cant find anything. I'll check out the direct gov website.

If it's for the government i wont mind so much but i dont wanna be used by groups to help promote themselves and get nothing in return.
